Overview

NIT Srinagar was established in 1960 as the Regional Engineering College (REC) Srinagar — the third REC set up in India — and was awarded NIT status in 2003. The 320-acre Hazratbal campus sits on the banks of Dal Lake, making it one of India's most scenic engineering campuses. Its NIRF Engineering rank has improved for three consecutive years.
