NIT Goa was established in 2010 by an Act of Parliament and designated an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education. It now operates from its permanent Cuncolim campus in South Goa. As one of the newer, smaller NITs, it offers a focused set of five B.Tech disciplines alongside M.Tech and PhD programs.
