Overview
IIT Dharwad was established in August 2016, mentored by IIT Bombay during its initial years. It functioned from a temporary transit campus before moving into its permanent ~470-acre campus at Chikkamalligawad, inaugurated by the Prime Minister in March 2023 — making it one of the few new IITs with a fully operational independent permanent campus. It offers B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD programs across nine engineering and science specializations.

Admission
