Established in 2015 as a joint venture between the Government of Chhattisgarh and NTPC Limited via a dedicated State Act (the IIIT Naya Raipur Act, 2013), IIIT-NR is located in the planned smart city of Naya Raipur. It runs three B.Tech branches — Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (India's first integrated undergraduate DSAI program) — with admission driven by JEE Main.
